In the heart of Co-Vid lockdowns, I embarked on a unique photography endeavor inspired by the renowned wildlife photographer Sudhir Shivaram. What began as a simple morning ritual of capturing birds at my backyard birdfeeder, affectionately named The 502, evolved into a 30-day serial photography and storytelling challenge. As I navigated the constraints of staying close to home, the project organically incorporated my pets and diverse locations. Each day, a new chapter unfolded, intertwining a fable about gentrification in a small town with a thrilling murder mystery featuring the mayor and an overlord, all portrayed by birds and dogs. The avian visitors became the supporting cast in this whimsical tale, as I documented their daily antics and incorporated them into the evolving storyline. A project born out of necessity during lockdowns, The 502 Chronicles turned into a narrative feat, promising to be a challenge I dare not undertake again due to its unforeseen complexity and daily creative demands.
