Previously on The 502: Private Eye Magnum feeds Sanchez and Holmes on a theory that the new money being invested in the 502 is behind the killing of The Overlord and Mayor.
"The new money, follow that and you'll find your killer," says Magnum.
"New money coming in?" says Holmes. "Gotta be from outta town!"
"Yeah, but the mayor and Overlord," replies Sheriff Sanchez, "Why both?"
"That I don't know," says Magnum. "That theory will not be free." Magnum flies away.
"Hard to believe we were partners?" says Sanchez. "Here I am, broke-ass while he flies high."
"We don't do this for money, boss," says Holmes. "And, you were correct, he peddles theory."
"And how is what we're doing any different?" says Sanchez.
"We don't peddle our work to every storm chaser?" replies Holmes.
"Yeah, I'm starting to wonder." says Sanchez. "Cash buys influence."
"Boss," says Holmes. "You love being a cop, what's happening, for real?"
Sanchez takes a deep breathe, "It's this case, I'm old, that's becoming clearer every day."
"Let me guess, the camera footage, you've seen it?" says Holmes.
Sanchez nods his head and answers,"And, Magnum, and possibly others."
"Well, it appears I'm the only one who hasn't seen this footage and I'm working the case," says Holmes. "What's on it?"
"We have key suspects...one goes by Tom."
"Another by Jerry."
"Another by Vladdy!"
"Another by Bo." says Sanchez. "All haven't been seen of since and appear to be working together."
"All this thinking is making me hungry!" says Sanchez. "You have a snickers or anything?"
"They're all from out-of-town," says Holmes.
"Then, if Magnum's theory is right, new money is out-of-town money!" says Holmes.
Cosell is listening to the conversation from a high vantage point. "Storm chasers? Out-of-town money?" says Cosell. "Interesting."
